San Jose – San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has re-signed center Steven Zalewski (zuh-LES-ski) to a one-year contract. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Last season, Zalewski, 23, finished second on Worcester (AHL) with 62 points (22 goals, 40 assists), first among the team’s forwards. He set career-highs in games played (78), goals, assists and points on the season while posting six points (one goal, five assists) in 11 Calder Cup playoff games. Zalewski made his NHL debut on Oct. 12 vs. Phoenix and appeared in three games with San Jose. The six-foot, 190-pound forward from Utica, NY was originally drafted by San Jose in the fifth round (153rd overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. >> Team Release
