Crap
I knew the day would come, just didn’t think it would be so soon.
Mr. Jamison, please make sure your successor as team president is more like you than say, Robert Rowell.

How many hats is he taking off?
Jamison has a lot of roles, other than the “day to day operations”. I wonder if he will still be on the SVSE board, or on the NHL board of governors. If he’s just cutting back, he probably wants to relax (per his bio he started as an athletics admin in 1977). If he’s cutting all links, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go to another team. Maybe in a deal to bring MLB or NHL to Silicon Valley?

That’s MLB or NFL… I hear San Jose has an NHL team.

Don't worry
Most of the rest of the league tends not to notice either. Hockey outside of the East Coast? Unpossible!

He’ll be stepping down from his roles on the Sharks and SVSE (the company that oversees day-to-day operations of the Sharks and related properties), but will still remain on the board of SJSE (the ownership group) and represent the Sharks at Board of Governors meetings

Changes at the top are always tough
Hard to dislike too much of what Jamison has done. We might grumble about ticket prices, but the team has consistently been competitive, has spent decent amounts, and has kept the arena in good shape (food quality concerns notwithstanding).
Here’s to hoping stability is maintained during the transition.

Do we have any ideas on who's replacing him?
Chris Andersen could be in a porno with his 'stache. Too bad he still wouldn't know how to box out.
Honesty may be the best policy, but it's important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy.

News conference at 2:00 pm today
I’m sure additional details will emerge at that time…

A bit chilling to read the line...
“ensuring that the team would remain in San Jose through 2015”
That seems so much closer now than it did at the time.
