One of my favorite commercials on the NHL Network is the "Hockey Is For Everyone" bit they play about fifteen times a day. It's one of those commercials that you don't fully appreciate until you see it continuously at varying hours throughout your existence on planet Earth-- in the morning before work, in the evening during dinner, and then on the weekend after a big night out with your friends.

Although Rick DiPietro going bonkers after scoring a goal against some eight year old is quite amusing in a "I've obviously been out of the NHL for too long" sort of way, nothing compares to the mastery of Alex Ovechkin. His Russian accent flows so well with the one-liners of "Great save" and "Sup...future stars" that I never get tired of seeing the piece. Always generates a huge laugh. Add in Henrik Lundqvist's ravishing good looks (that's okay to say, right?), the pure class of Jarome Iginla, and you've got yourself a clear winner out of something that is really just a promotional advertisement for a great cause.

Although I'd never admit it publicly (like in a blog post or something), half the reason I hired Ivan to write for us was just so I could read his articles out loud in a Russian accent. Phenomenal stuff.

At any rate*, rookie tournament tonight, where we'll be getting the chance to see some of San Jose's own "future stars" get down to work. The big guns (Petrecki, Ferriero, Mashinter, Doherty) didn't play against Vancouver on Monday, but I'm going to assume they get slotted in tonight against Edmonton considering it's the last game of the tournament for the Sharks.

*That has to be my most-used transistion, hands down.

The Oilers have been the talk of the tournament thus far, with a good young cast of kids that hope to make the NHL during training camp next week. The Edmonton Journal is reporting that Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle, and Magnus Pajaajarvi will play on the same line tonight in Vancouver, which should be exciting for all involved.

Sharkspage has been doing some mammoth game recaps throughout the tournament, so if this is the first game you've managed to catch this week, be sure to check out the Anaheim [link] and Vancouver [link] review before tuning in at 7:30 tonight.

J.P. Anderson, who had a great game against Anaheim on Monday, will be starting between the pipes for the Sharks tonight. Here's to him making another "great save" or four.

As always, YoungStars will be broadcasting the tilt live.

Enjoy the game folks.

Go Sharks.
