Great piece.

Fear The Fin: Where Selling Your Soul Is The Likely Solution
I don’t think 70-79 points is unreasonable on the top line.
I’d expect that to dip into the 60’s if he plays a more defensive roll with Pavs, but then again, his hottest streak last year was really while he was on the 2nd line while Pav’s was out with injury.

Yeah, I voted for 70-79 as well.

Ditto. Dan Ellis stirs up Twitter drama, and Patty scores goals. And thus the world turns.

I thought he'd score about 40 goals and 75-80 points..

Ahhh!
I saw a fanshot on the frontpage and got all excited thinking DW pulled off an epic trade for a top 4 defenseman. :(
I went with 80-89, but I think it would be low 80s if he makes it there again. More hopeful than anything.

I also said 80-89
I am thinking 82

70-79 seems about right...
35 goals, 40 assists, somewhere in there. I agree with ievans that I think Heatley will be the leading goal scorer on the team this year. And I think Heatley might approach 50 this season, which would be pretty awesome. But it would take some away from Marleau.

Here are my expectations (or hopes) for the top 6 forwards - and Couture + McGinn...
Thornton – 20 goals, 72 assists = 92 pts
Heatley – 44 goals, 40 assists = 84 pts
Marleau – 38 goals, 42 assists = 80 pts
Pavelski – 30 goals, 30 assists = 60 pts
Setoguchi – 33 goals, 22 assists = 55 pts
Clowe – 20 goals, 38 assists = 58 pts
Couture – 14 goals, 22 assists = 36 pts
McGinn – 16 goals, 12 assists = 28 pts
Last year we scored 257 goals. 4th in the NHL behind Wash, Chi, and Van.
Your totals here account for 215 goals. Not including the bottom five-six guys and the D. Last year the D scored 37 goals
215 + 37 = 252 goals… That leaves about 5 goals for the bottom 4 players…
The only prediction I think might be too high is Seto but other than that I think your numbers look good.
I still think Thornton and Marleau are going to have monster years, possibly bigger than last year.
I think we might be looking at 260+ goals this year. We might need it if our goaltending ends up struggling.

Man, I haven't been over this way in a while
I voted 80-89. I feel Patty will bust out with 85 points: 45 goals and 40 assists. Everyone has this guy’s back this year, there’s no coaching drama, there are no trade rumors, he hasn’t been stripped of anything…this is one of the first years he’ll be able to just play in a while. I’d love to see what could happen.
Uh yea we noticed and
we miss ya duh! :P

This isn't related at all, but..
is Fear The Fin going to have it’s own custom yahoo fantasy league? I’m looking to join a league this year and I’d rather do it with people from FTF…
One can hope
I need to avenge my fourth place finish from last season. Fucking Huet

So I’ve asked this question before and been ignored…
There might be one but only “for a select few”…. I think it isn’t open.
If I haven’t heard anything I a week or so o might just start one for us rejects and open it up to whoev on FTF via a fan post…

O'Cap'n my Cap'n!
My prediction for Patty is, no matter how well he does, someone will still fail to appreciate him and throw him under the bus.

I honestly believe
that those days are over. New coach, some new supporting cast members, and a fantastic career year/gutsy playoffs all point to him getting some love this year. Of course, this is me thinking wishfully, and hoping it turns out this way.
