Al Stalock recalled from Worcester
Per Dan DaSilva (Al Stalock's roomate), Al Stalock has been called up to the San Jose Sharks.
Stalock is arguably the Sharks best prospect outside of Logan Couture, and is having a strong season in Worcester after setting a team record for wins last year. He's posted a 2.65 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 38 games this year, going 17-17-4. The stats are somewhat misleading, though, as he's been one of the only bright spots on a struggling Worcester squad.
With just one game left before the All-Star break, you have to assume that Niittymaki's injury is more serious than originally thought, or else the team would have just stuck with J.P. Anderson who was called up before Saturday's game. With Stalock on his way up, expect Anderson to be sent back to the OHL.
For reference, here is the interview we conducted with Stalock last season.

Just to piss off the Dodgers fan in ya
I’m going to suggest that this has the potential to be the Sharks equivalent to the Giants bringing up Buster Posey. :-D
Hopefully the season ends the same way, too.

Why would the Sharks play in the World Series?

I can’t seem to send you any more creepy texts, as my phone doesn’t seem to get a signal in the Tank. I was able to Twat on Saturday, though.
Dunno if it would matter; my wife keeps stealing my glasses, so I can’t tell if you’re there.

You’ve still got an 831 area code, right? I have your number. Next home game isn’t until March 1st, however.
You’ll note I said “home” game. ;-)

Whatever, its not like Buster Posey can play hockey! Or maybe he can. If he can play defense, the Sharks should sign him…he’d be much more useful in awesome Teal than in lame Orange and Black.

Buster Posey can do anything he damn well pleases.

There’s no way he plays defense worse than Kent Huskins.

If anything Stalock is the Brandon Belt to Couture’s Posey! =P

The good news about this is that his numbers can’t really get any worse. He’ll be playing behind mostly the same guys as in Worcester.

With Niittymaki's groin pull...
Is it reasonable to expect that we’ll see a game from Stalock on February 2nd in Anaheim? Or a week later in Columbus?
If only February had more than 3 home games. :-( The only time we’ve been able to see Stalock in net at the Tank was in this year’s Teal and White (when he was awesome as fuck).

Is it bad that I’m a little irritated that he might not be in Worcester when we head out there in a few weeks?

Which day of the week are you guys gonna watch the game in Worcester?
I only ask since the town was pretty sleepy after the game let out. It was a Wednesday night and the downtown area was deeeeaad. If you guys go on a weekend, it should be much better I’m guessing. Seemed like Uno Chicago Grill was the only thing open while me and my friend waited for the return train to Boston… Good times nonetheless =)
"BEAT DAT BEAT!!!"
Yeah, we’re headed out there on a Saturday…so hopefully it should be a little better than a Wednesday night.

Ha, second time he’s had to do that. No official announcement yet.

I'm waiting for the day he gets called up.
And everyone else tweets about it while he stays silent.

I heard that Stalock’s reflexes are so quick, he can smell a fart before anyone has even laid one.

I heard that his reflexes are so fast that he’s already been to SJ and back to Worcester twice now based on DaSilva’s Tweets.
If you mention doing yourself in, I will take you seriously!

Shameless plug for my music.
I have a feeling Stalock might be playing on Wednesday against the Kings. Why else would they send JP Anderson back down to the OHL and call Stalock up when Niemi would be playing anyways? Especially since this is the last game before the All-Star break.
Niemi had a really poor game against the Wild so knows, maybe he needs a break; though there are 3 days of rest in between then and the game on Wednesday so maybe not.
Either Niitymaki’s injury is pretty serious, or Mclellan plans on using the backup sometime on Wednesday (whether it’s because Stalock is starting, or Tmac is just worried about Niemi playing poorly and having to pull him).
It would be interesting if the Kings game featured Stalock vs. Bernier.

I think (although I may be wrong) but if they kept JP Anderson up for any period of time it would ruin his OHL eligibility since the deadline for sending players back to the OHL had already passed but was aloud to come up under the emergency rules but now that they have enough time to get Stalock up they have to send JP back down.
