Many teams in our conference are on the rise thanks to coaching changes or simple inspiration:
Edmonton: looks like they have finished rebuilding
Phoenix: They're showing ability to manage without Bryzgalov, just as I predicted
Dallas: coaching change in the offseason
St. Louis: they have been on fire since putting Hitchcock behind the bench. They are also inspired by their long history of having flashes of brillance without going all the way.
I am getting a little afraid of St. Louis since they've gone much longer than us without even a Campbell trophy. Who do you guys think is going to be our toughest competition in the Western conference as the season progresses? Are you more afraid of the perceived dark horses such as St. Louis, or are the recent seasonally consistent teams such as Detroit or Chicago more dangerous?
