BlueLine or 3rd Liner?
With the embarrassing injury that Havlat has sustained (6 - 8 weeks for falling off the frackin' bench), how is DW going to fill the hole left by Marty? Does he go the route of bolstering the Sharks already impressive blueline or does he stick to his habits and finds a gritty 3rd liner to help the sharks bottom six? Also are we thinking big move (i.e. something along the lines of the Jumbo trade) or more along the lines of the Ian White trade? My opinion is that we go for a bottom six forward with speed to offset Handzus, god is that dude slow.
and remember when in doubt, just think W.W.S.D. All hail the 'Lock!!!

How does he replace Marty?
Two goals is a hard thing to take out of lineup.

Seriously, though, I think you could upgrade both areas of need because of the cap space.

I don't understand what you mean about having the cap space to upgrade both O and D, what am I missing here?

I voted defense but in my view, we really shouldn't trade for either.
We have 1.5 mil in cap space. We don’t need any depth defensemen, and I really like the configuration of our forward lines, especially the bottom six., and I therefore don’t see depth forward as a need either. Also, Ginner and Mitchell isn’t enough speed for you next to Hanzus? C’mon now.

Forward
The Sharks D is good enough and deep enough to win a cup, they don’t need to add another d-man to the 8 they already have.
They do still need a 2nd / 3rd line forward who can play on the PK. There’s a few players who could be avail at the deadline (or before) that would fit on this team really well!
They don’t need to ‘replace’ Havlat unless they suffer another injury in the top 6.
