Yet Another Ticket Selling/Buying Thread

With the long road trip the old thread got buried since the Sharks weren't at home for what seems like forever.  I was meaning to create this thread earlier but tonight's game kind of snuck up on me.  If you want to sell tickets to the community or buy, please post here.  Please no spam, scams, or price gouging.  We're all family here.

Also, rec this if you want this article to not get pushed off the fanpost sidebar anytime soon.

Anyway have 2 tix vs NYR that you'd be willing to sell?

I’d be interested in sections: 213-216, 228, and 201-203 for a somewhat fair value? I think I remember most people sell here for face value, so please let me know!
Thanks! :D

Saturday, 3/19, vs. STL

My friends play one of the rec leagues at Sharks Ice. Once a year, one of the games is played at the Tank following a Sharks game. This year, my friends get to play the game on Saturday, March 19th immediately following the Sharks/Blues game.

As part of the game, they sell tickets at a slight discount. Tickets are upper bowl (I don’t have section and row numbers yet) and then we all move down after the game to center ice to watch the rec league game, which lasts about 70 minutes.

If you’d like discounted tickets, and want to support rec league hockey and heckle amateur players, please email me at rishianarain@yahoo.com with how many tickets you’re interested in and I’ll see if my friends can make them available.

As long as you use a bank account and not a debit/credit card, sending money by paypal should be free.

Sending money for you is free....

however, there is a service charge for me to receive your money, and that is passed on the buyer. Why should a take a loss for the service charge. So I am including the service charge that Paypal charges me as part of the ticket cost.

From Paypal's User Agreement

4.7 No Surcharges. You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services, as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions.

by BlakeyD on Mar 4, 2011 7:12 PM PST up reply actions

Your link did not work.

I got the following message: Oh dear. It’s one of those “404: Page not found” messages.

To reiterate, I am not charging a surcharge. I am simply passing the cost of the “Purchasing” fee that I am charged for retrieving money that is sent to my account. If you click on to this link https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-fees-outside you’ll see that I am charged a fee. Is it wrong for me to ask the buyer of my ticket to pay for a fee that I am charged for? I don’t think so. It’s part of the whole transaction.

I am charging the person buying my tickets what I paid for them as a 10 pack holder ($39/per ticket; $78.00 for pair) plus the paypal fee charged to me. This price is well below the $46 ($92 for the pair) that is normally charged for these seats at Ticketmaster (and this doesn’t include the ticketmaster fee p/ticket!!)
I think my tickets are a very good value. I am not making any money on this transaction.

by mao2meow on Mar 4, 2011 9:41 PM PST up reply actions

I certainly wasn't accusing you of trying to gouge people with a fee

Just trying to save everybody some money if possible. Perhaps we’re talking about different things though, I was under the impression if you sent somebody money from a personal checking account for personal reasons i.e. gift etc, it was free for everybody, and this would seem to back that up:

Just have them send it as a personal transfer to friends and family, since that’s what we all are around here!

From the the "personal" tab (I do not have a business account)

Under “How Paypal works”:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-fees-outside
Personal: FREE
Get Paid: 1.9% to 2.9% + $0.30 USD
I am doing the transaction as a “Request Money”.

by mao2meow on Mar 3, 2011 6:50 PM PST reply actions

I didn't think about doing it as a personal transfer...

…since I’m selling the ticket, I think of it as a business transaction.
Someone has agreed to buy the tickets and we are meeting in person, so I guess the whole paypal fee is a moot point. But definitely food for thought if I sell my tickets again. Which I’ve never done on paypal. I guess I’ll have to read up on the rules.

Selling 2 Tickets to Sharks vs. Rangers

I bought these tickets to take my girlfriend to her first Sharks game, but her flight was delayed and so we can’t make the game.

Sharks vs. Rangers – 3/12
Sec 221
Row 1
Seats 9 and 10
Season Ticket Holder Face Value: $80 per ticket
Selling the pair for $160

I would also be willing to trade these tickets for a pair of tickets to the 3/19 game against the Blues. Any pair tickets of somewhat similar face value would be fine. Thanks.
