First night of the playoffs, and yeah, no Sharks game, but I'm more than ready to talk about actual hockey instead of speculating. Five games tonight, lots of interesting storylines. What's everyone thinking about the events so far?
Detroit had a hell of a 2nd period against Phoenix and reeled off four straight goals after falling behind 1-0 in the first. Lots of penalties called on Detroit in the first--they were probably lucky to only be down one. Currently 4-2 with 11:44 to go.
Pittsburgh just exploded for a couple quick goals in the 3rd against Tampa. Quite the defensive struggle previously.
And speaking of defensive struggles, the Caps and Rangers are scoreless after 2. This is obviously playing right into the Rangers' wheelhouse. If they can keep games close, well, who knows what might happen?
And the late games tonight: the undercard featuring a compelling match between the Ducks and Predators, and then the main event, Chicago in Vancouver for yet another round of their spring festivities. But with the way the Hawks rolled over on Sunday against Detroit, maybe it'll be easy for the Canucks to slay those demons.
