Remember when I was saying Howard looked like he was coughing up too many rebounds in the first period? Yeah, as his eighteen saves will attest to, Howard was excellent in the second frame.
A great period in terms of outchancing for San Jose but once again they come out with nothing to show for it. Detroit's defense still struggling with an aggressive Sharks forecheck and the opportunities have been coming from all three top lines.
Pavel Datsyuk has been a highlight reel tonight, centering what has essentially been the only consistently dangerous Wings line. He's been up to all his old tricks, and after his deke towards the end of the second you have to figure McLellan is going to try even harder to keep his bottom pairing off the ice when he's out there.
Keep throwing the puck at Howard, start getting aggressive in driving to the front of the net, and keep working the forecheck.
Twenty minutes left to go-- all it takes is one.
