Around SBN: How The Kings Beat The Coyotes: Lather, Rinse, Repeat

Part of what baffled the Canucks was that just last series against San Jose, they felt the Sharks delivered two dangerous -- and potentially suspension-worthy -- hits that were never disciplined. Daniel Sedin was the recipient of one of them, and Rome the other.

"Romer gets killed down in San Jose and nothing happens, and obviously now he laid the hit and he gets four games," Daniel Sedin said. "It's a tough call. I've seen the same kind of hit before and nothing happens."

Geez guys, move on

Still bitching about McGinn? Seriously? Perhaps they should have argued that Rome did not realize it was a late hit. A skewed sense of timing has been one of the consequences he has been suffering through ever since McGinn scrambled his brain.

ah, nevermind

I see what you did there, and I agree with you. My bad.

The McGinn hit was made far worse by his lack of paying attention and putting himself in a bad position to recieve the hit at the last minute. It wasn’t blindside as McGinn was coming from where the puck was coming from. Rome then turned himself into the boards right before the hit and then recieved the contact in the side and shoulder. Was it a penalty? Not really. McGinn had stopped skating a good 20 feet before the hit. You could argue however that he didn’t attempt to play the puck and that was a long distance to travel to play the body..(even though Rome was PLAYING the puck at the time.) Rome was in a situation where he should have been paying more attention, Sedin’s hit from Eager was definitely a charge, but he turned his back at the last minute and put himself in that position. Those hits aren’t even remotely comparable. Rome hit Horton well after he had passed off the puck, wasn’t committed to the hit yet but stopped to deliver it and then all the contact was to the head. I hate Vancouver so much. They are whiney, embelishing divers.

Whiny embellishing divers. Excellent statement, but don’t forget assholes, since they do a lot of underhanded shit to rile another team.

They Should Be Focusing...

… on winning instead of whining.

The loss of a first-line forward is far more devastating than a third-line defenseman.

Scrambling to find a scapegoat because of a head hit is a low thing to do. Pointing a finger at a former opponent and saying “they did it first” is childish. Vancouver, everyday I find something to hate about your team. Thanks for fueling that fire.
