I think like a lot of people, when we acquired Burns, I was assuming he'd end up as quarterback of the second powerplay line. What Tmac pulled out at least once last night was different. Marleau, Thornton, Pavelski, Boyle, Burns.
Who knows if this was a pre-season experiment, the luck of whoever was on the bench, or even whether the chemistry works out, but it begs the question I think - is there a better power play line (on paper) in the league? I can't think of one. If it ends up as something that gets deployed, it will be interesting to see how much production it gets.
