Hey guys! This is my first post on this website so I'm just getting used to this, but I plan on writing for this frequently. Anyways, time to dive right into this...

Being a huge hockey fan, I love hockey jerseys. When the Sharks acquired Dany Heatley from Ottawa I was thrilled. They finally had a pure goal scorer that didn't a world-class playmaker to give him the puck. He had all the accolades to become a fan favorite here in San Jose, but to make a long story short it didn't work out. At all. Nevertheless, before I knew all of that I asked for his jersey for Christmas the first year he got to the Bay Area. A black one of course because they are flat out better than the regular teal. Being only 17 years old at the time, I couldn't buy one myself because i don't have 175 dollars to blow. My parents got me the jersey and i wore it to all the sharks games that year. And now everyone knows that he has been shipped out of San Jose for a much faster Martin Havlat. So that brings up the question what to do with the jersey?

First off, here's my opinion on the whole Heatley saga...For a guy who hit the 50-goal plateau twice in his career, he shockingly couldn't skate very well. He was tremendously slow and sometimes I questioned the effort. As soon as he got here he was put on a line with Thornton and Setoguchi (also traded, duh). Like everyone with a brain, I thought he would thrive having Joe on his line. Heatley had a tremendous one-timer on Ottawa, but it never seemed to show up at The Tank. He also fanned on A LOT of shots and his slap shot took a week to load. And did i mention he was slow?

Back to my jersey. My first reaction to the trade itself was that I couldn't believe anyone would want Heatley's incredibly overpaid contract. I found it funny that as soon as the clause in his contract allowed him to be traded, he was gone. I wanted to keep the jersey just because it is the only black one i have and I put the 20th season patch on it. Then I thought about selling it, but i couldn't see how I could sell it without getting ripped off. I have decided to keep it for now and save up for another black jersey. Probably with Marleau on the back.

So what should I do with the jersey? What should be the next jersey I buy? (I already have a teal Thornton)
