Greeting Fear The Fin. I made it a New Year's Resolution to start following hockey more, and the Sharks are my local team so there ya go

Now, given I've never really followed hockey much before and I doubt I'll ever really learn about most players. But I would like to learn about our team's current players. Would you guys suggest just going to Wikipedia and read up on the current guys, going to a specific site, or maybe even you guys could help me out?

I would suggest just jumping right in and watching the games and following along with us here. This FAQ is useful for understanding all the inside jokes and such. Enjoy being a ‘new fan’! (Seriously, you don’t know the heart break this team gives us haha )

I agree. That’s pretty much what I did in here. I made a ton of mistakes involving my understanding of the game, but these FTF folks are very accepting and have one of the best understandings of the game. Taught me a lot. Still teaching me a lot.

And if you have the chance, I’d suggest going to a game, because that’s what really drew me into the sport. Sharks home games are great.

Catch out these posts which were the season previews this year. Should give you a good run-down on all the players this season as well as our expectations coming into this season.

Other than that, like everyone else said, just jump right in and follow the gameday posts, that’s where the real meat-and-potatoes is.

Also, totally check out the FAQ, otherwise you might get lost in all the inside jokes and references.
