Thursday Chum Bucket: Bill Daly says "yes," there will be a season

Bruce Bennett
  • On Hockey Night In Canada radio yesterday, Bill Daly responded to Elliotte Friedman's yes-or-no question about whether there will be an NHL season with a comforting "yes." Of course Elliotte didn't specify what year the season would be in. [Puck Daddy]
  • Here's more Friedman in his weekly 30 Thoughts column. It amazes me that some NHL executives are not only apparently convinced there will be an amnesty buyout clause in the as-of-yet-unsigned CBA, but are already expressing interest in Rangers defenseman and assured buyout target Wade Redden. Maybe GMs are just really bored. [CBC]
  • Ray Ratto says league owners are more interested in seeing Donald Fehr burned at the stake than having a season. [CSN Bay Area]
  • Logan Couture and Team P.K. Subban lost 14-10 to Team Steven Stamkos in yesterday's NHLPA charity game in Toronto. [ESPN]
  • Dan Rusanowsky interviews Sharks prospect and San Francisco Bull Mikael Tam. [San Jose Sharks]
  • Ray Shero has this whole general managing thing down pat. [The Hockey Writers]
  • Winnipeg: where tweeting a photo is apparently way worse than hitting a car while drunk driving. The only sane coverage of Evander Kane's Vegas adventure was Chemmy's deduction of just how much money the Jets winger was holding. [Pension Plan Puppets]
  • Follow the new Battle of California feed on Twitter. Or else Meg will probably hurt you. [Twitter]
  • Sure it's blatant PA propaganda but this new Nike commercial is kind of awesome:
