He’s good, first of all (he even tore it up in Toronto offensively a few years back, though that’s not his game). And I doubt DW gives up a 2nd round pick for a 4th rounder. Whatever the arrangement of lines, I expect a good chunk of minutes for Moore once he learns the system.

Not many
Once a goaltender is past his ELC, he’s pretty much always going to be overpaid. In Niemi’s case, I think he’s overpaid by about $750K. Compared to the Cap, whatever, not a big deal.
Niemi is a reasonable value at $3.8. I just think he could have been had for $3.2 or so.

I am huge Nabby fan, so it was probably going to happen to whoever was the next starter.
But When he left I felt, okay, at least the youngsters will a have a shot now, then DW goes and signs Niemi who I felt was hugely overrated. As the season wore on I warmed up to him a little bit, but then the playoffs happened and my worst fears were confirmed.

Dominic Moore
Great PK guy, with a great face-off percentage. His shooting percentage is down and should regress to the mean, resulting in more gpalz. Last year he had an excellent play off performance for a lower-line player, with 11 points in 18 games. He’s a fast skater, left-handed shot and probably loves puppies. Who doesn’t?

At least in that occurrence it’s 2 players battling for the puck. If the neck gets knocked off, play is dead, so it would be a huge advantage to the defense to learn to “accidentally” knock it off the moorings.

That’s not even borderline, that’s just disappointing. I know he’s a goaltender that likes playing in the heat of the moment/playoffs, but when you give up six GA you make the rest of the team work harder to catch up.
Bottom line: They may not matter to him, but Nemo’s got to start giving a fuck in these games against lesser teams, so his teammates don’t have to constantly work to dig themselves out of a hole each night. Especially in the thick of a nine game road trip, that’s the last thing you want to do your team.

Niemi Did have a bad game, but hes not to blame on all 6. How do we lose Stamkos twice in those areas? ALsoit seems like they scored on 90% of their chances some luck/ bad bounces combined with inability to clear puck at Key moments for the most part they didn’t let TB sustain to much offensive zone time. How does a team that puts up 50 shots, working hard as TMC would say to earn penalties not draw one past mid way mid way? I saw at least 4 that comes to mind , Interference / holding the stick/ Double Minor High stick -tb scores and gets momentum 25 later ………and a clear Cross Check right in front of TB NET. Sharks gave them 5 of 6 imo sad to have that kind of luck all crammed into one night I thought other then the stamkos Goals they dictated the game….
Downie was lucky (niemi), St louis at the end I thought was also fortunate off braun sad the sharks probably had 25 scoring chances and got 5 goals should of had 8 if more luck went our way tonight, TB probably had 10 which they scored on 6… I don’t think the hockey gods would of let SJ win tonight … they could of at least went to a SO dammit. We dominated the entire Ot period too I thought boyle’s spin o rama was in…..finish chances!
