SHARKS FANS, WE ARE LIVE!
Tonight, the San Jose Sharks host the visiting Dallas Stars in their third meeting of the season. The Sharks are 2-0 against the Stars and have outscored them, 9-3.
Thomas Greiss will be making his first career start against the Stars as Antti Niemi took a puck to man land in practice. Tyson Sexsmith, a.k.a "Sexy," has been called up from Worcester to serve as the backup while Antero Niittymaki was reassigned to Worcester.
In addition, Ryane Clowe will be back in the Sharks lineup with a visor shield. However, defenseman Jason Demers was moved to injured reserve.

Update Rich... bought a Samsung "Smart TV" and I got a new XPS 17" on the coffee table - split screen, with HDMI to TV and Panasonic Soundbar with Subwoofer keepin' the rug down!! I just can't type fast enough to stay with the feed!!!!!! (;-{))

I went to “The Harmonica Blowout” at Van Duzer last night… saw my old friends Mark Hummel and Charlie Musselwhite with Little Charlie Baty and Curtis Salgado & others for a Little Walter tribute… Saw (no less than) 7 guys playin’ Walter’s “My Babe” on harp AT THE SAME TIME!!! It was epic!!

Know what I don't understand?
Why I can watch the full series of FMA: Brotherhood for free, legally, on YouTube, direct from the company producing it, but yet streaming hockey games that should totally be on TV is so EVIL that the government feels a need to step in and shut sites that do so down. I mean. Come off it. Put the games for free online, make up the losses in ad revenue. Not rocket science. Stop being greedy, and stop paying the government’s dogs to crack skulls for you.

Hockey is a cultural thing.
It should be shared. Yes, sell tickets. Yes, sell merchandise. But don’t bar people who love it from watching it just because they don’t have a ton of expendable income.

The whole TV Business model is going to change.
I hate my coverage, my cable provider sucks ass, satellite is a pain in the ass, and don’t have Fios nearby yet. I’m thinking about game center because with the coverage i get I only get NY/NJ teams (Blech), a bunch of other teams i don’t care about (CHI, DET, PHI, BOS, MTL). But then I’m stuck watching it on my computer/mobile device and I still have to deal with blackouts, if I understand the gamecenter deal correctly.
I know how it goes. I’ve worked in TV. They have to pay the crews to cover the games (even though they don’t pay them much for all the shit they have to deal with sometimes, and frequently use freelancers or contractors who get paid way less and no benefits- so they’re not on the permanent payroll for the company either).
Stanchion’s right though, If you’re smart, you’ll work for your fan base in the changing market and give them what they want (access to the streams of all their teams games for free or even dirt cheap) You’ll be ahead of the curve, and set up for success. instead of against the fan base, which just pisses everyone off. You’ll make the money elsewhere through league endorsements (fans will buy your sponsors stuff, and if you work it right and get them to offer deals to your fans you’ll get kickbacks), ad revenue and product placement, and possibly gain more fans and increase loyalty to the brand. Basic principles of marketing- evolve or die.

You guys are gonna hate me. And let me start off positive. Sharks looked great last game. Now the bad, the Stars are assholes and we need to push back. Thornton against the boards just then got pushed around, and I still think Joe plays too soft. IMO he needs more aggression in that situation. He’s 6’5" and got pushed off like he’s 5’11". Sorry, just the way I feel.

Again, just my opinion. I think he can play a bit soft at times. Understandable considering he wants to remain durable and it’s tough to play aggressively every night and remain healthy. Just in that situation, I hate to see smaller guys push him around like that. Especially against the Stars. No disrespect intended, just my feeling :).

I think I know the type.
I remember this guy in a Life Beyond Earth class I had (best class I ever had, loved it), and this idiot kept bringing up bizarre sci-fi ideas, like “Why haven’t we build a floating base on Jupiter yet?” Every day. Complicated
But basically, the commenter, Buttercrunch7, basically derailed every thread. I don’t think she (I’m told she’s a she) ever really insulted anyone or did anything else that would ordinarily get folks banned, but she was a detriment to the community. After the initial ban, she began showing up on this blog, and other blogs, under a multitude of sock puppet accounts, often claiming not to know Buttercrunch7. The derailing of threads continues to be an issue on other blogs as well.

Going by the podcasts, dude seems like one of those harmless, funny fellows everyone is friends with.
Much better admin than the tyrannical overlords you get on, say, gaming websites. I remember being banned from Kotaku for graciously disagreeing with something the top writer had written. FTF cuts a lot of slack, which is totally awesome.

As boyledshark22 she definitely insulted people – calling them retarded or mentally challenged as well as treating everyone like a child and refusing to use the reply function. She then created an account for the soul purpose of defending herself while posing as another person. Then she created another account – Buttercrunch7 – and was better about the whole not insulting people thing, but still was extremely condescending and it was fairly obvious she was the same poster even to people who can’t check her IP. The whole, “I know everything and you know nothing, you sheep” attitude was very divisive, even though she did lighten up after a while.
But then she got IP banned – which was a long time coming, she probably had 7 warnings from the mods at that point – and started trolling the other blogs with what she was doing to FTF initially, and only when those teams would play the Sharks.

Plus, her trolling actions against other teams when they play the Sharks makes us look bad. Which sucks.

Yes, it is a kids show. But...
…it’s a show that both kids and adults can enjoy.
I think later episodes in the season have better humor, storyline, and even make outside references (like “The Big Lebowski”).

just show that the creators of the show are aware of the older audiences. Kids may not know about it, but the adults will.
As for the singing, some bronies don’t like it (‘cause they don’t like musicals, I guess) while others either like it or are neutral towards it. I, for one, am leaning both on the neutral side and the “pro-singing” side (awkward wording there…).

Musicals are the worst thing to happen to film/TV, ever.
Music goes on a CD, not a DVD. Unless it’s a concert DVD. Or a background soundtrack.

…I see. Everyone has their personal preferences, I guess. You hate musicals, that’s fine with me.
Personally, I grew up watching cartoons with singing in them (Disney cartoons, for example), so I liked singing as long as the cartoon used them for comedic purposes or if they didn’t abuse them.

My favourite Disney cartoons are things like The Black Cauldron and The Great Mouse Detective.
Decidedly darker fare, without annoying high-pitched musical nonsense. Rattigan > every other Disney song.
