Per multiple sources, the Sharks have acquired Daniel Winnik, T.J. Galiardi and a 7th round pick from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Jamie McGinn, Mike Connolly and Michael Sgarbossa.
Both moves are apparently to bolster the Sharks overall forward depth. Galiardi and Winnik both play a heavy amount shorthanded, coming in at second (Winnik) and fifth (Galiardi) in terms of time on ice for the Avalanche this year.
Galiardi has eight goals and fourteen points this year, while Winnik has five goals and eighteen points. Neither player is an impact on the top six, but heavily improves San Jose's forward depth.
Unfortunately, Jamie McGinn, who was having a break-out year, is headed the other way along with Mike Connelly and Michael Sgarbossa.
We will have analysis later today.
