Every fan wishes their team would have the kind of success Detroit has recently had, year after year, but that is an extremely rare thing. More common is the team that stocks up on players and wins it all one year, only to have minimal success after that (Tampa). Or the team that has consistent success but can't quite make that final leap (Sharks). The Lightning have one Stanley Cup, but they have only made the playoffs 6 out of 19 seasons (32%) ... in HOCKEY! The Sharks have never made the Finals, but in that same stretch of time they have 15 playoff appearances (79%). Since '92-'93, the Sharks have 704 wins, to Tampa's 588. As a fan, what would you rather have?
