The 2012 NHL Awards are live from Las Vegas this afternoon at 4PM on NBC Sports Network. Unlike last year, there are no Sharks players nominated for major awards (although it's a crime Pavel "55% offensive zone starts" Datsyuk was a Selke finalist over Joe Pavelski) but there's still reason to tune into the NHL's annual bridge-between-the-Cup-Finals-and-Entry-Draft festivities featuring all your favorite C-list celebrities, unfunny Sean Avery jokes and mortifying misspellings of award recipients' names. I'm assuming that reason is to potentially witness the stage collapse on Nickelback. Here's an open thread to discuss the proceedings and/or keel over in uncontrollable laughter when Erik Karlsson wins the Norris.
