Sharks name Jim Johnson assistant coach

Former NHL defenseman Jim Johnson, last seen on the Washington Capitals' coaching staff this past season, is the latest person to be added to the Sharks' staff as an assistant coach, following Larry Robinson's hiring yesterday. Johnson has also served as an assistant for the Tampa Bay Lightning, serving as head coach of their AHL affiliate Norfolk in 2009-10. Unless the team plans to have five men behind the bench next year, we'll probably hear something about the job statuses of Matt Shaw and Jay Woodcroft in the near future. UPDATE: According to David Pollak, "[Mike] Ricci getting an expanded role with ‪coaching staff, but not fulltime post. Matt Shaw leaving."
