Some sad news to report: Former San Jose Sharks forward Dominic Moore's wife, Katie, lost her battle with liver cancer yesterday.

The San Jose Sharks released a statement:
The San Jose Sharks organization would like to offer their heartfelt condolences to Dominic Moore and the Urbanic family regarding the passing of Katie Moore. The courage that she showed during her illness is an inspiration to everyone who knew her. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers.
Moore missed the last two games of the Sharks' opening round loss to the St. Louis Blues in the 2011-12 season; in June it was revealed by the team that his wife was being treated for liver cancer, explaining Moore's absence from the team.
Thoughts and prayers from Sharks Nation to Dom, his family and Katie's, and all those who knew and loved her.
