Sharks nearing the halfway point.

Sharks continue doing what needs to be done to get numbers in the win column. With success come a cost however and as the sharks continue the current win streak they have lost tomas hertl to a undisclosed period of time. Raffi torres has yet to rejoin the line-up. Havlat out of the line-up again. tommy wingles going down last night, the sharks are starting to thin out on forwards.

Besides last nights game, the sharks overall have not looked anything special. They are still showing glimpses of undisciplined play. Continuing there attempts and cute and untidy hockey. the sharks have shown signs of the identity they made for themselves at the beginning of the year but this is not to say the are not putting up substantial numbers. With the 4th best goals per game in the league with a average of 3.1 per game. and an 8th best goals against average with just 2.4 opponent pucks hitting the back of the sharks net you would say they are doing pretty good. the numbers that are hurting the sharks the most are all on the man advantage and the man disadvantage. the sharks are 14th with the man advantage which is a serious downgrade from where they started at the beginning of the year. The penalty kill has been somewhat better then most years for the sharks.

Last night December 29 San Jose showed they do have what it takes to close put a game. The big headline of the night has to Bracken Kearns First NHL goal. At thirty-two years of age he is now the oldest sharks player to score his first NHL goal. Even better one of the more upsetting players over the past few weeks has been logan couture, who score one of the most smooth goals of the sharks season.

i feel the promise in this sharks team that i have not had in prior teams is how well rounded the team has become. goals are coming from every line. For once this team is showing it can be a four line squad. Something you cant find in old San Jose rosters over the past five years.

The Sharks next game is in Anaheim as they finish their home and home with the ducks and finish out 2013. What will we see from the Sharks in 2014? Will they find their way back to the end to end hockey team they were in October and parts of November? Only time will tell one thing is definitely certain the sharks have some work left if lord Stanley's hardware is in their future.
