Advanced Stats for Sharks vs Blue Jackets (Because Neutral is a lazy-ass)

Since Neutral is too busy watching the Olympics and rooting for Switzerland, I decided to step in and pick up the slack.

I will be introducing some new analytical methods in this fanpost, so stay tuned.

· GI Joe is awesome, nothing new here.

· Havlat should not even be taking faceoffs because it will probably lead to another injury.

· Desjardins is a good example of a useful face-puncher.

· Marleau is clearly a choker, or he just wanted to be nice.

· Thornton has been slowly improving his Faceoff win rate, which is a good thing since he takes most of the draws.

· Burish is not a useful face-puncher.

· A higher win rate than his congressional predecessor.

· H. neanderthalensis ties with puny Homo sapien sapiens.

Shot Attempt Chart

It is nice to see San Jose keep the pressure on, even with the lead. In typical Sharks fashion, they score more when they aren’t dominating their opponents, because Sharks.

In case the Chart doesn't show up because I can't figure out SBN's retarded upload system, here is a link to the chart.

Using Fenwick relative, we can clearly see Joe Pavelski, Marty Havlat, Wingels, Demers, Sheppard, and Kearns all drove possession no matter who they were on the ice with.

Yes, Kearns was a driver of possession, I am scared too.

Boyle, seemed to have a better game, he was almost even (using Fenwick relative) in possession.

A lot of the big guns had off games, probably because they were tired of carrying the team, or because it was Coloumbus and they didn't care.

Sheppard once again drove play, he should clearly be benched.

Now to the brand new Advanced Metrics.

IR= Impregnation Ratio

This measure op skills by how many fans became pregnant as a direct result of said skills. This data takes a lot of time to acquire, so these are just the early results.

Due to the Colombus factor, no one cared.

GI JOE was still able to impregnate 76 women, 12 men, and 1 shark though.

THE INTANGIBLES!!!!

This metric involves many maths and complex processes. Such as whatever comes out of Don Cherry's (Milburry or McGuirre will do in a pinch) ass (or mouth, same thing really), complex rituals involving druids, the ummmm.............. "excitement juices" of certain hockey "analysts", and Isaac Asimov equations.

Random Thoughts

Thanks to the McCarthyism factor, MacCarthy was able to score on Godless Russian Communist Bobrovsky.

Coloumbus is a decent possession team with a 50.7 FF% (despite Jack Johnson) so the Sharks dominating them is to be expected.

Niemi had another terrible game. Granted, I couldn't watch it (stupid fucking monitor broke) but SV% doesn't lie. The best option for DW right now is to straight up trade Nemo for Nabby. Nabby's SV% should then improve thanks to a good team in front of him and a competent back that won't let in 5 goals on 20 shots.

GO USA!!! GO SHARKS!!!
