Yahoo! Sports - Sharks fire coach Ron Wilson
I'd be silly if I say I didn't think this was coming. But I did, even though I didn't want to, I knew the sharks would be heading in another direction. I don't think there was a wrong move to make here, I just would have made the other move. It will be interesting in the coming weeks to see who they interview, and what they do.

I gotta shoot you a few questions. I couldn't figure out how to just PM you or something, and I couldn't figure out where to find your email. Any way I can get ahold of you on email? If you're uncomfortable posting yours, here's mine. xcomacorex@gmail.com
Check me out if you wouldn't mind. It's not ultra important, just something I feel I should ask.
A broken-hearted Sharks Fan

Apparently Brenden Morrow brought a dagger with him Sunday night, because he sure stroked a dagger deep into the fatigued heart of the San Jose Sharks. And once again, the dagger hit us Sharks fans hard, crushing our hopes.
We believed in those insurmountable odds and 33.
We believed that despite being weary from playing in 4OTs, they would come through for us.
We believed that the Sharks could finally overcome adversity, that this year was different from the previous 3 seasons. That this year was OUR year
We believed in OUR San Jose Sharks.
But once again our hearts were torn from our chests like Tony Stark's in the blockbuster movie Iron Man. But one key difference. Tony Stark had a backup heart which he inserted back into his chest a few minutes later. We will have to wait another year before our hearts will heal. And even then... our hearts may yet again get torn out from inside our chests.
Fire Ron Wilson?

I don't understand it. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened, although I don't agree with it, but can ANYONE explain why they think he should be fired? What is the basis? I'm asking for logical arguments here, not, "the Sharks lost, FIRE RON WILSON!!!" Give me a reason he's earned a firing.

You know, sometimes the Sharks drop games they should win. It's part of their nature, I feel. They, like another bay area team I won't mention, sometimes play down to the competition. It's one thing to drop a close one, but to jump out and smack them in the face, and then let them do what Calgary did to us last night, is just ridiculous.

I'm very, very excited at what the Sharks have accomplished. There's really only one thing left. That Giant, Giant silver cup. I think we all know which one I'm referring to. I think over all the years they've made great runs at attempting to get it, this year they really have the best chance. They've changed their attitude, they've adjusted their style, and they are just an incredibly well rounded team this year. Cheers.
Sharks Looked Bad

I can't believe I waited all weekend for that terrible game. It looked like the entire team fell asleep for the first 40 minutes.
I don't know what to think, on Friday, we beat the Ducks. Then, after a few days rest, we look slow and tired against the Coyotes.
I think this Sharks blog got it right when it called the Sharks flat. I can't remember the last time I was so bored.

You know, it's kind of hard to write about this. On one hand, we completely outplayed them. From top to bottom, they just got outplayed. On the other hand, we caught them on the wrong night as Dwayne Roloson decided he just didn't want to lose tonight. We score a point in the shootout loss, but the streak is over. It was a hell of a ride.
It really sucks when you outshoot someone 49-23, and you still go home with a loss. They played a great game, and I've got nothing to say that can take it away from them. Would they have lost if Shelley stupidly checked Cogliano after the whistle? I doubt it, but he's not the reason we lost. It's a true testament to the skill of these pro goalies, if you ask me.

Sharks trade for Jody Shelley

From SFGate:
The San Jose Sharks bulked up for the stretch run Tuesday night, acquiring enforcer Jody Shelley from the Columbus Blue Jackets for a sixth-round draft pick in 2009. Shelley will join the Sharks on Wednesday before their game against the Calgary Flames.
I don’t know too much about him other than the fact that he’s racked up a load of penalty minutes, but he’ll definitely bring that "meanness" factor the Sharkies lack. He has yet to notch a point so far this season, but I think he’ll come around. Hopefully he pans out and helps the Sharks play with consistent physicality every period.
