Open Letter to the Sharks

You know, sometimes the Sharks drop games they should win. It's part of their nature, I feel. They, like another bay area team I won't mention, sometimes play down to the competition. It's one thing to drop a close one, but to jump out and smack them in the face, and then let them do what Calgary did to us last night, is just ridiculous.

How are you going to let them take a vicious shot at our captain, without any redemption? At what point are you going to stand up for yourselves? They disrespected us as a team, and we didn't respond. We played the cool cucumber. We stupidly played like a team who relaxes after building a big lead. Well, it's the PLAYOFFS. YOU DON'T DO THAT HERE.
There has to come a point in time where a team with this much talent plays to the potential we all know they are capable of. There are no excuses anymore, you showed us after the trade deadline how potent and powerful this team is. START PLAYING LIKE IT. Either we are going to have to grow a pair and start hitting back, or we'll be seeing some daily getty images of the early exit fishing trips.
It's not time to point fingers. It's not time to beckon off with their heads. It's time to play Sharks hockey, period. There are no other options left. And at this point it isn't even about what they do to you. At some point the penalties will be called. You guys need to buckle the heck down. Where is your speed? Where is the toughness we saw towards the end of the season. The great things everyone thought you were capable of have evaporated since day one.
And that's why I've been left with no other option but to beg you here. Come on, Sharks. Get out the extinguisher, and finish the flames. You are the better team. We've seen you outplay them for minutes on end, even if the outcomes don't show.
You are good enough to do this. Handle your business. You don't want to be synonymous with underachieving teams. You have already underachieved. It's time to achieve. Don't let us down.
