Breaking News: Sharks fire Ron Wilson.
Yahoo! Sports - Sharks fire coach Ron Wilson
I'd be silly if I say I didn't think this was coming. But I did, even though I didn't want to, I knew the sharks would be heading in another direction. I don't think there was a wrong move to make here, I just would have made the other move. It will be interesting in the coming weeks to see who they interview, and what they do.

Wow
I was wavering back and forth between keeping him and firing him.
Yes - we've had some great regular seasons under him.
No - we have not made it past the second round in the playoffs.
Now the coaching search begins...

Yee!
It will be very interesting to see what kind of a overhaul this signifies. If we're stopping at this point, or if there is more in the cards than just a new coach. In any case, I feel like getting to the second round time in and time out is impressive enough, and I hope he finds work elsewhere.

Well,
Personally, I think it was about time.
He's had so much to work with and nothing to show for it besides a couple of great regular seasons. Three in a row for second round exits. That's not talent, that's just being out-coached. In the Dallas series, he was COMPLETELY out-coached.

Respectably.
I disagree. Thorton steps up (which he never has, ever.) and we win that series. Grier steps up, and we win that series. It can only be the coaches job to SOME extent to put that team in the best position to win the game. If he does, and the players don't play up to the standard that they should be held up to, there's nothing he can do about it. I'm not mad he's the scapegoat, but I sure as hell don't believe he's the reason we lost that series.

Sharks record
Ron Wilson won more games (206) and had a better winning percentage (.606) than any previous Sharks coach, and the team won two division titles during his four seasons and also had the best record in the league over that span.
In Michalek news, from that same link:
LW Milan Michalek was not seriously hurt after getting hammered on a clean hit by Dallas’ Brenden Morrow during the closing seconds of regulation in Game 6. Michalek needed assistance from the ice and did not return for any of the 69:03 of overtime that followed. A team spokesman said he had the wind knocked out of him and was walking on his own after the game.
