Pre-game

Alarmingly lifeless in the Tank right now.

(18:33 1st) That darn post got in the way!

Very good start for the Sharks -- lots of offensive-minded physical play.  Throwing some terrific punishing checks.

(13:48 1st) It's a Sharks-Stars game, all right

Lots of back and forth action.  Sharks need to be better with pick control -- some bad giveaways.

(11:28 1st) 4 on 4

Bogus call on Rivet, courtesy of some Turco shenanigans.

(9:19 1st) Some, uh, "mysterious" officiating

Didn't know you could first haul a guy to the ice and then hold him.  For ten seconds or so.  Ah well.

(6:10 1st) Pickles needs some Starbucks

He's committed some very bad giveaways by not looking before passing.

(5:30 1st) Stars on PP

Rivet must owe these refs some money.

(2:43 1st) Good penalty kill

Subsequent offensive series has SJ on PP.

(End 1st)

Sharks had some chances on that last power play, but no conversions.

Sharks outshot Stars 10-2, but Dallas had more chances than that.  Overall SJ had slightly the better of play.  They need to start exercising better puck control, and (obviously) start converting on the chances they've been able to create but not complete.

(17:06 2nd) Still quiet

Something's got to give, right?

(15:10 2nd) MILAN!

Be it ever so slowly trickling over the line, there's nothing like working for a goal and getting it!

(13:54 2nd) So much for that lead

Modano (who else?) on the PP.

(12:54 2nd) SJ needs to crank it up

Dallas has had the upper hand most of this period.  Very little offense being generated.

by Diecast Dude on Apr 25, 2008 8:17 PM PDT   0 recs

(10:51 2nd) To be expected...

... when you're being outworked in your own end.  2-1 Stars.

by Diecast Dude on Apr 25, 2008 8:20 PM PDT   0 recs

(End 2nd) Inconsistency

After taking the 1-0 lead, the Sharks let Dallas dictate play until they were trailing 2-1.  They picked it up after that, but now need to come from behind in a game that thus far has the feeling of both teams not being all that interested in playing tonight.

by Diecast Dude on Apr 25, 2008 8:43 PM PDT   0 recs

(18:03 3rd) Energy picking up a bit, but...

... Sharks are being overly pass-happy.

by Diecast Dude on Apr 25, 2008 8:58 PM PDT   0 recs

(13:29 3rd) Campbell is dreadful tonight

Timid with the puck and pass-happy at the same time, too many turnovers, when he does shoot totally inaccurate... bad.  Very bad.

by Diecast Dude on Apr 25, 2008 9:06 PM PDT   0 recs

(10:45 3rd) Dallas in defensive mode

Sharks need to start applying more pressure.  Forecheck has pretty much disappeared.

(6:59 3rd) Sharks... I don't know

They're out of sync with each other.

by Diecast Dude on Apr 25, 2008 9:16 PM PDT   0 recs

Cheechoo!!!

by drink409 on Apr 25, 2008 9:21 PM PDT   0 recs

(3:02 3rd) FINALLY!

Cheechoo and Setoguchi refuse to be moved from the front of the net!

by Diecast Dude on Apr 25, 2008 9:22 PM PDT   0 recs

(2:21 3rd) Swell...

... now Campbell is in the box.

by Diecast Dude on Apr 25, 2008 9:24 PM PDT   0 recs

Bad Penalty to take...

let's go PK

by drink409 on Apr 25, 2008 9:24 PM PDT   0 recs

What the hell is that!!!

The refs put their whistles away when the Sharks have pressure, ande then they blow the first whistle possible when the Stars have pressure.  The Refs have allowed the Stars to stay in this game and its crap!!

Lame

we need to take game 2

by drink409 on Apr 25, 2008 9:49 PM PDT   0 recs

(15:21 OT) That was sad

Very weak effort in OT.  Sharks were indecisive with the puck and unable to maintain control whenever Dallas pressured.  Little surprise they scored with distressing ease.
