Game Fifty-Nine Wrapup: New York Islanders 3, San Jose Sharks 2
Why, oh why, oh why, oh why did Ron Wilson put Evgeni Nabokov back in this game? While it hadn't been a thing of beauty, the Sharks had kept the Islanders at bay (no pun intended) throughout the first two periods. Then in the third, after Nabokov had returned from a facial laceration suffered when a shot broke his mask, and the Sharks ahead 2-0 courtesy of a Joe Thornton goal, the moment there was a shot on goal by New York it was painfully obvious Nabokov was far too shaky to play.
So Wilson left him in there.
And another loss is in the books. Swell.
