Sharks Gameday: Live by the Special Teams, Die by the Special Teams

Complete Coverage >

Fresh off a third period comeback against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night, tonight the San Jose Sharks will try to do what they haven't been able to in December-- win back to back to games.

David Pollak is reporting that the lineup will stay the same as it was against the Avalanche. That means Niemi in net, both Vandermeer and Murray out with injuries, and Torrey Mitchell up on the top line with Thornton-Pavelski as Marleau goes with Clowe-Couture and Havlat stays with McGinn-Handzus.

Nikolai Khabibulin, he of the 1.95 GAA and .933 SV% this season, will be in net tonight for Edmonton.

Some other assorted links to keep you occupied before the early puck drop:

  • David Pollak of Working The Corners talks to Torrey Mitchell about playing on the top line with Thornton and Pavelski.
  • Kevin Kurz of CSN breaks down all of the storylines heading into tonight.
  • Copper & Blue with their preview of the game.

  • For FTF readers in Canada, Brent Burns will be on After Hours following tonight's game. An online video version will be available either late tonight or early tomorrow on the CBC website.

Puck drops at 7:07 PM.
