2012 NHL Free Agency Open Thread

Happy Canada Day! The floodgates to unrestricted free agency open in an hour with fifteen members of the Sharks' organization set to turn into pumpkins when the clock strikes 9AM PDT: Torrey Mitchell, Dominic Moore, Daniel Winnik, Benn Ferriero, Brad Winchester, Ben Guite, John McCarthy, Tony Lucia, James Marcou, Cam MacIntyre, Jim Vandermeer, Colin White, Mike Moore, Tyson Sexsmith and Antero Niittymaki. The biggest names on the league-wide free agent market are Zach Parise and Ryan Suter but we've detailed over the past week a few more realistic options the Sharks could or should pursue. In all likelihood, given the organization's historic level of activity at this time of year, the biggest news involving San Jose to break today will probably be Mitchell signing with the Columbus Blue Jackets but, at any rate, we'll update the page with any Sharks-related signings or transactions.
