Sharks vs. Oilers: Remember that time the Sharks scored six goals in a period?

New, comments

The road trip continues as the Sharks travel to Edmonton to face the Oilers for a game with actual playoff implications.

USA TODAY Sports

The last time the Sharks were in Edmonton, they scored six goals in the first period. Nope, that isn't a typo. Six goals. In twenty minutes. By comparison, the Sharks also scored exactly six goals between February 6th and February 22nd, a total of about 367 minutes of hockey. To say things have changed for San Jose since the beginning of the season would be an understatement.

It's been a while since the Sharks and Oilers have squared off for a late-March contest that had actual playoff implications for both teams. It's difficult to label any one game as a must-win with how erratic the standings have been all year, but this is pretty close to that. Go Sharks.
