Coming off their most impressive performance of the season, the Sharks head to Denver in search of their first win at the Pepsi Center in nearly three years. It'll also be their first game against Brad Stuart since the early July trade that sent the former San Jose defenseman to Colorado for a second-round pick. Antti Niemi will be between the pipes tonight, the second time he's started consecutive games so far this season, for what many (okay, just me) are referring to as The McGinn Bowl with brothers Jamie and Tye set to face each other for the first time in their NHL careers.

Marty Havlat scored a hat trick (!!!) and Tomas Hertl made an unexpected return to the lineup for the first time since recovering from his knee injury as the Sharks defeated Colorado 5-1 on April 11th in their final home game of the 2013-14 regular season.
- John Scott will begin serving his two-game suspension after the department of player safety deemed him in violation of Rule 70.2 for his role in the line brawl at the end of the Sharks' win in Anaheim.
- Tyler Kennedy appears to be inching closer towards making his season debut as he was sent to Worcester on a conditioning stint yesterday.
- Colorado is coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday which the Avs' official website put a, uh, interesting spin on.
- Top Avs defenseman Erik Johnson left that game with a head injury and did not return but has cleared the league's concussion protocol and will be in the lineup tonight.
