Sharks vs. Flames Preview: Dylan DeMelo called up

New, comments

The Sharks look to start a new win streak against the Calgary Flames.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

After dropping a closer-than-it-looked game to the Blackhawks, the Sharks look to get back in the win column against the Calgary Flames. The Flames have struggled mightily this year, both in terms of result and #process. They sit 22nd in the league in score-adjusted fenwick-for percentage (48.0) and in sixth in the Pacific.

Dylan DeMelo was called up this morning, but according to morning skate reports from Friend of the Blog Kevin Kurz it doesn't appear he'll play tonight.

Last Meeting
The Sharks dropped this one 4-1 in their final meeting with the Flames last season.
Storylines
  • The Flames penalty kill is one of the worst in the NHL. Wouldn't suck to see the Sharks take advantage.
  • After calling out the third line following Wednesday's loss to Chicago, it'll be interesting to see how it rebounds tonight.
  • Keep an eye on the third defensive pairing...or cover your eyes in horror.
