On March 21, the San Jose Jr. Sharks coaches will once again be hosting one of their best events: the Girls Give Hockey a Try clinic. Open to girls ages 5-12, this free clinic allows girls to try out hockey without a financial commitment. All you need to do is sign up for the clinic, and all the equipment and ice time will be provided to you.

There are two sessions open and only 40 slots available for each session, so be sure to sign up soon.

If you don't have a daughter, sister, niece, or granddaughter that can take advantage of this opportunity, please spread the word. Personally, I discovered how awesome playing hockey was in college, and I wish I discovered it sooner. This is a great opportunity to try a somewhat expensive sport without worrying about spending tons of money on equipment that will never be used (thanks Dad, for buying me all that lacrosse stuff I used once).
