The Sharks sent Alex Schoenborn down to the San Jose Barracuda on Wednesday, dropping another forward from the battle for the final few roster spots. San Jose hosts the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday, and Schoenborn being sent down indicates he was never going to play in tonight’s contest anyway.

The 20-year-old winger was drafted in the third round of the 2014 draft by the Sharks. Schoenborn played all four of his junior seasons with the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League. He tallied 128 points in 208 games.
