The San Jose Sharks head to Glendale in their penultimate preseason contest to take on the Desert Dogs. Head coach Pete DeBoer indicated regulars will get at least one game this weekend, whether it be tonight in Arizona or in Anaheim on Sunday.
So that means guys like Joe Thornton and Logan Couture are about ready to get game action and we’ll see slightly more normal lines against the Coyotes and Ducks. It also means players still fighting for a spot will inhabit the role they’re actually fighting for.
The Coyotes lucked their way into fourth place a season ago, but some shrewd drafting by the front office ought to have Arizona moving in the right direction this year. That doesn’t mean the Coyotes will fight for a playoff spot (I tend to doubt it) but the team certainly showed improvement as the season wore on.
As with most games this preseason, your only choice to experience it is to head to the San Jose Sharks website and stream the audio live. I’m sorry. Don’t worry, televised hockey is coming your way in just a few short days now.
