Timo Meier scores first NHL goal

On his first NHL shot no less

NHL: San Jose Sharks at Montreal Canadiens Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

It’s Timo Time, everyone. The Sharks rookie got his first NHL goal on his first ever shot by beating Carey Price down low to put San Jose up 3-0 over the Montreal Canadiens. That gave Donskoi his second point of the night and the Sharks a big lead early on.

Scoring against Price to open up your NHL scoring account isn’t too shabby. Doing it by using your backhand? Even better. This line had a great shift leading up to this goal and Donskoi nearly scored before Meier eventually got the puck into the back of the net.

San Jose has been all over the Canadiens to start this game as the Sharks have scored twice on the power play and now once at even strength. Montreal has been off since Monday and has looked sluggish to start the contest.

Here’s to many, many more goals for Meier. Welcome to the show, kid.
