Add Gonzalo ‘Papi’ Le Batard to the list of celebrity San Jose Sharks fans.
Le Batard “co-hosts” ESPN’s Highly Questionable with his son, ESPN Radio host and Miami Herald writer Dan Le Batard and Bomani Jones, who former NBA player Raja Bell filled in for today. Papi revealed his love of the Sharks and forward “Mateo” Nieto in the ‘Si o No’ segment of today’s show. Fast forward to the 1:45 mark to hear Bell, the Le Batards, and their guests, Viceland’s Desus and Mero, discuss their thoughts on tonight’s Sharks/Canadiens game.
In the segment, the hosts are shown a clip related to a game or show airing that night, and are asked if they’re intrigued enough to watch. Papi pretty much always says yes, but I’m not going to call the Kentucky Fraud Chickens on his Sharks’ fandom. His shoutout to the Long Beach Native is proof that he’d get the blog, but he’s probably going to be crushed when he finds out Nieto’s scratched.
Fellow Sharks fan and ‘Highly Questionable’ fan E-40 opened the locker room doors ahead of Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Nashville Predators. The Sharks would be wise to invite Papi to San Jose to do the same, or drop a rant if the Sharks win the Cup this year.
