NHL Playoffs 2016: Day 1 Gamethread, TV and streaming information

New, comments

Talk about the first day of the playoffs here.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Game 1: Detroit vs. Tampa Bay

Time: 4 p.m. PST

TV: NBC Sports

Why you should watch: This series might actually be competitive with Steven Stamkos out of action. The Lightning should still handle the Red Wings, but...well, this could get interesting.

Game 2: New York vs. Pittsburgh

Time: 5 p.m.

TV: USA Network

Why you should watch: This series is basically the Penguins amazing offense vs. Henrik Lundqvist. This oughta be good.'

Game 3: Chicago vs. St. Louis

Time: 6:30 p.m.

TV: NBC Sports

Why you should watch: Because you don't like either of these teams and watching them smash each other to pieces can only be fun. Plus, the Blues will probably lose in some heartbreaking way. They're good at that.

All three of these games are also available to stream on NBC Live Extra, assuming it actually works — something it historically hasn't been so great at.

Enjoy the games!
