Bet you didn't expect to see any trades from the Sharks until after the postseason, eh? Dylan Sadowy, a third round pick from 2014, has been traded to the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for a 2017 third round pick.
From the source:
The deadline to sign Sadowy was just six days away. Bob McKenzie confirmed not long after this tweet was sent out that they have signed Sadowy.
Sadowy has agreed to terms on his entry-level contract with DET: https://t.co/UyKGLezI8a— Bob McKenzie (@TSNBobMcKenzie) May 26, 2016
We wrote about Kevin Labanc and Dylan Sadowy earlier this year. Here's an excerpt from our scouting report:
He is a gritty, agitating, goal-scoring winger. Dylan played on the top unit in all situations for the Saginaw Spirit but has been used as a secondary option on even strength, the penalty kill, and on the power play for the Barrie Colts. Sadowy has improved a lot as a skater since the draft. His edgework is decent, his motor never stops, and he never gives up.
According to generalfanager.com, the Sharks now have eight picks in 2017 and two third rounders. San Jose does not have its second round draft pick.
