Alright, so I know just about nobody on this planet needs to get to know Sidney Crosby. He's everywhere in large part because the NHL doesn't really know what it's doing when it comes to marketing star players and, okay, mostly because he's incredibly talented. (Stupid) debates about his leadership and character aside, Crosby is an absolutely phenomenal player and will be a handful for the Sharks defenders.
Name: Sidney Crosby
Number/Position: #87 / Center
Born: August 7, 1987
Birthplace: Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia
Drafted: First round (First overall) 2005
Sees the ice and anticipates the play exceptionally well. Can blow by defenders with electric quickness. Possesses a strong lower body and is an awesome passer. Leads by example. Is feisty and gritty. Wins face-offs. Is particularly strong on his backhand side, which is a rarity.
Is somewhat prone to injuries, especially to his lower body (and concussions), which is a direct result of his full-throttle approach to every game. Therefore, his concussion situation must be monitored for the rest of his career. Could stand to play at different speeds (but isn't as good).
Elite franchise center and all-round superstar.
