Better Know a Penguin: Conor Sheary

Conor Sheary gets to play with Sidney Crosby, which I imagine is like getting to act in the same room with Tom Hanks. Except this probably doesn't pay as well. In 17 playoff games, the forward has seven points. In 44 regular season games he tallied 10. At just 23, the undersized forward isn't known for his scoring prowess so much as his overall possession play.

Name: Conor Sheary

Number/Position: #43 / Left Wing

Born: August 6, 1992

Birthplace: Winchester, MA

Height: 5'8"

Weight: 175

Shoots: Left

Drafted: Signed by Pittsburgh in 2015

Assets

Is a natural point producer with a great hockey brain and offensive instincts. Shoots the puck well (and often), and he generates a ton of offense at lower levels.

Flaws

Can he survive the National Hockey League game at his diminutive size and with his lack of strength? The jury is still out. Must also work on his play without the puck.

Career Potential

Diminutive depth scoring winger with a little upside.
