Tomas Hertl is getting ready to play in his first ever Stanley Cup Final, but the forward has now been named to the 2016 World Cup of Hockey Czech Republic squad.
He missed out on playing with the Czech Republic in the 2014 Olympics because of his knee injury, but now Hertl can represent his country in the NHL's pseudo-replacement to the Olympic contests.
The biggest surprise here is that Jaromir Jagr wasn't named to the squad. Despite being somewhere between 500 and 1,000 years old, Jagr is still a very effective NHL player.
You'll also notice San Jose Shark defender Roman Polak also made the cut. This is his third time playing with the Czech senior team. The World Cup of Hockey will be held in Toronto in September. With the Stanley Cup FInal still ahead of us, that seems a long, long ways away.
No Sharks made team Russia (unsurprisingly) but you can see the whole roster below.
