Matt Nieto missed game seven of the San Jose Sharks second round series against the Predators and all six of the Western Conference Finals against the St. Louis Blues. Now there appears to be some good news on the injury front as Nieto may be good to go on Monday for game one of the Stanley Cup Final.
Pete DeBoer told NHL.com that "I'd anticipate he'd be available," as the forward has now practiced for the second-straight day. Returning Nieto to the lineup could be a positive for a Sharks forward group whose depth will be tested against a very deep Pittsburgh team.
If Nieto draws back into the lineup, he could bump Tommy Wingels, Dainius Zubrus or (preferably) Nick Spaling. DeBoer may decide he doesn't want to make any changes to the group after winning back-to-back games to close out the Blues, but he'll at least have a decision to make before game one.
