With the 2016 draft just over a week away, we’re going to highlight a few players the Sharks could be targeting for their first pick late in the second round. San Jose has the 60th pick in the draft. The first round will be held on June 24 in Buffalo with the remainder of the draft scheduled for June 25.
Other draft profiles:
Name: Carter Hart
Position: Goaltender
Born: August 13, 1998
Birthplace: Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada
Height: 6’1
Weight: 170 lbs
Catches: Left
Assets
I don’t think its likely the Sharks will go for a goaltender with their only pick in the first two rounds, but it’s draft day and crazy things tend to happen. Carter Hart, goaltender for the WHL’s Everett Silvertips, played 63 games this season and finished with a .918 save percentage.
Flaws
Hart is on the small side in terms of weight, and will need to bulk up before playing professional hockey. His puck-handling skills need work, but at only 17 years of age he certainly has time to perfect them.
