The Anaheim Ducks just gave Jared Boll a two-year contract

That’s the joke.

The Ducks are responding to an early playoff exit loss in just about the worst possible manner. So far Anaheim has blasted its stars, fired its very competent head coach and replaced that competent head coach with one of the all-time worst NHL head coaches.

But wait, there’s more!

Today the Ducks signed known-agitator Jared Boll to a two-year contract. If you don’t know who Boll is now, I understand. It says a lot about what kind of a player Boll is that the press release spends more time talking about his penalty minutes than his points.

But hey, that’s just one release, right? Let’s actually look at what the Ducks are gett—

Sweet god that is ... that is not very good. So it seems the Ducks are making very similar mistakes to the ones Doug Wilson made after the series-that-shall-not-be-named. If this were (almost) any other team, I’d feel a great surge of empathy.

For the Ducks? Mmmm...noop.
