But who’s counting?

We’re now fewer than seven weeks away from the start of the regular season — 48 days, to be precise. To celebrate the ever approaching start of the regular season, which as the headline points out is just Tomas Hertl days away, we’re going to take a look at some of the Czech forward’s best goals.

Let’s get the obvious one out of the way first.

Just in terms of the goal itself this is probably the best in San Jose Sharks history. Context probably bumps this down to just one of the best regular season goals of all time — but that’s not too shabby either. This was Hertl’s introduction to the NHL, and he made a very good impression.

You always remember your first. This one is pretty classic Hertl — he drives to the front of the net and cleans up some garbage to put the Sharks up 2-0 against the Kings. Then the series ended due to a lockout or something.

Don’t forget the kid can shoot, too. He’s one-on-one with the goalie here and the Blues give Hertl all kinds of time and space with the puck. That was a mistake.

What’s your favorite Hertl goal?
