San Joses hosts the NHL’s worst team in the Colorado Avalanche at 7:30 p.m. PST at SAP Center tonight. This is the first and only time the Avs will come to the Bay Area this season which means this is likely the last time former Shark, and Long Beach native, Matt Nieto will skate on SAP Center ice this season.
Tim Heed and Barclay Goodrow both played with the San Jose Barracuda last night and were recalled to the Sharks today. Nieto is expected to skate on Colorado’s second line with Gabriel Landeskog and Matt Duchene.
