Tim Heed’s time with the San Jose Sharks is over. The team returned him to the San Jose Barracuda after a one-game ride in the press box, possibly signaling the return of Marc-Edouard Vlasic to the Sharks’ lineup.
That return can’t come a moment too soon. The Sharks struggled in three games without Vlasic, posting an 0-3 record in three one-goal losses. With David Schlemko very much on the shelf, San Jose can use all the help it can get on the blue line.
Heed heads back to the Barracuda where he is scoring 1.11 points per game. The 25-year-old Swedish defender has filled up the scoresheet, particularly in the assists department, but will wait a bit longer to make his NHL debut.
Mirco Mueller stays with the Sharks as the seventh defender while I presume Dylan DeMelo plays with Brenden Dillon on the third pairing. San Jose hosts the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night.
